Pro Photo Expo and Conference is held each year by Professional Photographers of California (PPC) as a state-wide educational trade show and conference. This year, the event takes place from August 9-12 in Pasadena, California at The Pasadena Center.
The trade show is scheduled for August 10-12 with exhibits representing cutting edge products for the photographic industry. The vendors will include camera, lens, lighting, and photographic equipment manufacturers; album, framing and presentation companies; print labs; capture and post-capture software companies; photographic retailers; photographic colleges; and photographic organizations.
Two full-day programs will occur on August 9. One program features Kevin Kubota on “Lighting To Workflow: Being A Complete Photographer”. The second program is H&H Color Lab’s “Sports Boot Camp: Discovering New Revenues In The Youth Sports Market”.
The respected panel of speakers teaching throughout the 3 days of programs on August 10-12 are Arica Dorff, Arthur Rainville, Dennis Nisbet, Joel Grimes, Joyce Wilson, Kathy Metz, Kirk Voclain, Rebecca Ford-Soren, and Robin Swanson covering such topics as pet photography, creative art direction and lighting, marketing and sales, inspirational storytelling, senior contracts and photography, and QuickBooks for photographers.
A new element for Pro Photo Expo and Conference will make its debut in the form of the Education Track on August 11-12. The Education Track has been designed specifically for emerging photographers to build basic skills in photographic capture, workflow and business, but the material is invaluable to all levels of photography professionals. Representing the best in the industry, these classes will be taught by: Tony Corbell (lighting), Chris Orwig (workflow), Sarah Petty (marketing), and Doug Gordon (posing, plus general information on building the professional business to which you aspire.)
A Saturday evening event will feature world-renowned George Lepp, one of the first members of Canon’s esteemed “Explorers of Light” program. This talk is open to the public at no charge and will take place at 7:00 p.m., August 11.
A special Color Services discount code will earn you free admittance to the trade show portion of Pro Photo Expo and Conference (a $20 value!) by registering here. The educational programs have separate fees, but the trade show discount is a great deal!
