Greg Lawler is a naturally gifted photographer—and we at Color Services are among his biggest fans. For a number of years, Greg has generously shared his heartfelt images for display on the walls of our lobby, on samples of our giftware products, and on our website. In fact, if you look at Express Prints on our home page right now and read the fine print, you will see a photo credit for Greg!

Now Greg Lawler is sharing the story of his recent establishment of U.S. citizenship through an exhibit opening tonight at Brooks Institute Gallery 27: “You Are America (And So Did I!)”.

Gallery 27 provides the following description for this collection: “Immigration to the United States is a rich and evolving story, and one that is interwoven into the symbols of America. The red, white and blue, or the outline of the U.S. Map; these symbols, among others, appear in the photographic, sculptural, and utilitarian works by Greg Lawler. Through these works he examines the impact, strain and power connected to these iconic symbols. Lawler, who recently established citizenship in the U.S., communicates from the standpoint of both a foreigner and an American. He shows us these powerful, evocative symbols to challenge us, but also to share the honor it is to call ourselves American.”

Greg Lawler is a man of many talents, and you are guaranteed a lot to see, experience and enjoy at this great exhibit!
