We’re jazzed at Color Services about last week’s Instagram Takeover with Nick Duncan! What a treat! Nick’s work includes assorted rural, sensitive and stunning atmospheric imagery accompanied by introspective and thoughtful captions. Through his photography and the back-stories he shares freely, one can’t help but come to know Nick in some degree and to appreciate his depth of character. Imagine a dreamy photo of a woman on a beach taken by her husband-to-be just before he proposed—-and that’s what you’ll see in Nick Duncan’s work. Cycling through the midwest countryside, Nick’s bike and lens took me to sights I rarely see in southern California but miss from my youth. Nick shares technical tips about his photos as well as personal insights. I was touched by his admission, “I’m not a guy that expresses things too well verbally. In some way that’s what I hope my pictures do for me.” You’ll see many photographs taken with an iPhone using the Hipstamatic or Oggl apps. For me personally, I want to thank Nick for a great trip down memory lane with his photo of the “Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits” album cover which I could recognize a mile away.
