Kodiak Greenwood is a talented California-based photographer who shoots film in his professional life, but for Instagram, shoots only with his iPhone…and you will be amazed with the images he captures. He shared a truly stunning showcase of black & white images during his week on the Photograph Your Love® Instagram Takeover.
Kodiak is a native of Big Sur. He attended Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara and returned to Big Sur after graduating, determined to make a living from photography while living in the environment that inspires him. His career blossomed with architectural and travel photography assignments, enabling him to utilize his passions for nature, travel, and environmental photography.
Assignments have taken him to the World Climate Conference in Copenhagen; the Atlas mountains in Morocco; Sardinia, Italy; Fiji and more. In addition to photographic assignments, Kodiak specializes in fine art photography featuring nature and landscapes, and his work is in several private collections. For his fine art photos, Kodiak uses both color and black and white and prefers, rather than digital, a large format camera and film. We appreciate that he sends his film to Color Services for processing!
Kodiak’s work has won a number of awards, and has been featured in many prominent publications, including The Los Angeles Times, National Geographic Adventure Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, The New York Times, Travel & Leisure, The Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, New Zealand Magazine and others. He also contributed his photography for “Handmade Houses: A Century of Earth-Friendly Home Design”, a book about the history of bohemian handmade houses in America and Europe which was published in 2012.
