Browsing Kay Cheon’s week of photos on our Instagram feed made me want to sit and savor a piping hot cup of coffee…while checking out IG, of course! That’s because coffee, and all that goes with it, is what Kay shoots! He loves to drink it, he loves serving it @thefrenchpress, and he loves capturing it on film. (Yes, he shoots a lot of film…which we are happy to process at Color Services.) I love coffee, too. My morning cup is the perfect start to each day. So it was great fun to see beautiful images of coffee plus behind-the-scenes stories and glimpses of those who put their heart and know-how into serving up a good cup.

Kay Cheon’s beautiful photos were captioned with some great insider coffee info which I’ll share here:

  • Coffee tastes best in a ceramic mug, outside.
  • Espresso makes up most of the coffee drinks we order, but a lot of people have never tasted a shot of espresso on its own.
  • An espresso can be the best afternoon pick me up – it’s intensely flavorful, but actually doesn’t have much more caffeine than a cup of coffee.
  • A proper espresso should be able to stand on its own without milk or sugar.
  • Some cafes serve sparkling water with their shots. It serves as a palate cleanser and also tempers the acidity of the espresso.
  • Wanna know what the barista’s drink? Two favorite barista beverages are an iced matcha latte with a hint of vanilla, or a hot matcha tea with some honey.
  • Coffee helps fuel creativity…so you can espresso yourself!

Our Photograph Your Love® Instagram Takeover at Color Services celebrates our lab’s tagline and was inspired by the trend of takeovers on IG. Each week we invite a different customer to take the helm of our Instagram feed and share photos that they love. It was a unique and interesting week with Kay Cheon, so be sure to take a look! Thanks, Kay, see you soon!
