Last week I had the pleasure of discovering Arna Bajraktarević, aka Arna Bajraktarevic, when she graciously took over Color Services’ Instagram for a week. I learned that her life includes a backstory that few of us can replicate, having escaped Bosnia during the war of ‘92 with her family and very few possessions. Her father’s 35mm Pentax made it, and photography has since played a significant part in her life, patterning her inspiration as an artist. Arna went on to earn a B.A. in photography from Brooks Institute…and now her work speaks for itself.

Since the theme of our IG takeover is “Photograph Your Love®”, it’s always interesting to see what our guest photographer loves. Much of Arna’s work features people in their element. I found her photos to be simple, yet powerful. Her soft color palette is so pleasing to the eye. I loved the way her Dune Bird series tells a visual mini-story so compelling that anyone who loves to dance will want to make a run for the beach to experience that mood for themselves. Her Santa Barbara Farmer’s Market photos, so beautifully captured, were also personal favorites.

We loved that Arna Bee posted the first photo grid on our Instagram site! What a treat! Be sure to check that out.

Though I’ve not yet had the pleasure of meeting Arna here at Color Services, those who know her say she always comes in wearing a friendly smile and radiating warmth. I’d say her special warmth from within shines through in her photography. Thank you for showing us glimpses of the world through your talented eyes!
