We were so excited to have Joe Curren take over our Instagram account for a week! Joe is a Santa Barbara native, plus a longtime friend and customer of Color Services. He was raised on the waves of the Pacific Ocean in a family of accomplished surfers and spent his younger years earning a reputation as a world-class surfer.

Joe’s travels as a pro surfer took him around the globe and his later career as a professional photographer has taken him even farther. Joe likes to use his camera to capture profound yet often-overlooked aspects of the surfing journey…and beyond. In his Instagram takeover, he shared beloved shots from some of the world’s most unlikely surfing destinations including Iceland, Japan, Sri Lanka, Greece and New Zealand. He also includes photos from his familiar California surf at Jalama and Rincon.

He and his wife currently live in Crescent City, California, where Joe continues his photographic pursuits, runs an art framing business and makes handcrafted surfboards and furniture. He is also a surfing ambassador for Patagonia.
