Greg Lawler is a good friend of Color Services, an IT professional, beekeeper, proud father and photographer with a magic touch. Last week, he kindly took over our Instagram feed with a generous helping of his work and subject matter as diverse as Greg himself.

Greg states in his opening caption that fatherhood opened up a well of creativity in his life and the proof of that shines in his photography. Greg is literally the poster boy for Color Services. His photos are featured throughout our website, on many of our in-store sample products and on most of our marketing materials.

Greg shared some helpful tips on Instagram such as his technique for stunningly beautiful doorway portraits. “I like doing these doorway portraits – standing just inside a doorway on a sunny day softens the light, creates a nice catch light in the eyes and provides a natural dark vignette.“ Be sure to check them out!

Another tip from Greg is to always have a camera at hand. “A camera is part of my daily attire,” he says. By doing likewise, you’ll always be ready to capture golden moments when they arise such as my hands-down favorite of the toy helicopter “piloted by sister” stuck in a tangled mess of his little girl’s hair. More highlights include beautiful Holga shots, an endearing photo of a nun reading to his children and a fun video clip where you can meet Greg.
