If there’s one thing Travis Jensen has learned as a street photographer, it’s to always be on his toes. He never knows when the next photo moment will arise…but to look at his work, I’d say he’s mastered the art. It was awesome to have Travis as the guest photographer for our Photograph Your Love® Instagram Takeover last week. Right on theme, he showed us what he loves—and that is the people and grit of San Francisco. His street photography is raw and real. Jensen says, “I’m on a mission for the truth, roaming the streets with my camera. My images aren’t always pretty, but they are natural, truthful and sincere.” I loved seeing slices of life so different from mine. Big cities are always impactful, but Jensen’s black & white photography is especially poignant. With my own young son living in San Francisco, I imagined that he must see similar sights as part of his day to day life. My fave is the man holding a look-a-like pig…and I’m astonished at his shot of concentric circles of laid rubber. I’m also astonished that Travis Jensen is a self-taught photographer.
